The Latinos in Education Conference is a transformative event dedicated to empowering and uplifting Latino voices in education. Bringing together educators, advocates, students, and community leaders, this conference delves into issues affecting the Latino community, shares innovative solutions, and celebrates cultural strengths. Through inspiring keynotes, engaging workshops, and valuable networking sessions, attendees gain the tools and connections needed to drive change in classrooms, communities, and beyond. This movement fosters educational equity and unlocks opportunities for Latino success!
Hispanic Heritage Month Event
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we proudly hosted a special exhibit that honored the incredible contributions of Hispanics and Latinos in Vallejo. This exhibit illuminated the remarkable stories, achievements, and deep-rooted impact of our community, from local leaders to cultural influencers, each representing the rich heritage and vibrant spirit that defines Vallejo. The opening reception at the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum was a beautiful gathering where attendees explored and celebrated our shared history, strengthening community ties and embracing the diversity that makes our city unique. Marisela Barbosa-Cortez guest curator since 2021. The exhibit was created as a result of her book Hispanics and Latinos in Vallejo.
Help Shape the Future Of THE BAY AREA
The "Help Shape the Future of the Bay Area" event aimed to involve the community in the long-term planning of the San Francisco Bay Area. It was organized in partnership with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). The main goal was to gather feedback and priorities from residents across the nine counties through two key initiatives:

Plan Bay Area 2050+: A policy designed to shape the future of transportation, housing, the economy, and the environment across the region.

Transit 2050+: An innovative plan to redesign the regional public transit network, adapting it to future needs.
The event provided an opportunity for participants to share their ideas and concerns through an online survey available in multiple languages (Chinese, English, Spanish, and Vietnamese). The survey period was from August 8 to September 9, 2024.
The purpose was to ensure that policies reflect the community's priorities and to build a more affordable, connected, diverse, healthy, and vibrant region for all residents by 2050.
